Mitchell’s first most recognized film role was at the age of 15, in The Crow: City of Angels, when she acted Grace, a young drug addict. At the time of filming the 1996 film, her audition did not go through for the part of Mary Camden in the new family drama 7th Heaven. She afterwards auditioned for the role of Sister Lucy and was successful. Mitchell featured shortly as a customer in Moody’s Point on The Amanda Show in the year 2000. In 2003, she acted Erica Enders-Stevens in the Disney Channel original film Right on Track, which was focused on the early profession of the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Pro Stock champion and her sister Courtney Enders, cast by Brie Larson.
Mitchell went on a break from filming 7th Heaven in 2005 to act Laura Hunter in the horror thriller Saw II. Her first country album, self-titled, was recorded in 2006.
