He started his profession at WMAL, airing news and sports on weekends. Core came in as Bill Trumbull’s co-anchor on the afternoon program “Two for the Road” in 1976, taking over from Ed Meyer. In a few years, the show’s name was changed to The Trumbull and Core Show. At the end, this changed into The Chris Core Show. Brooke Stevens took over as co-host after Bill Trumbull retired and left in the year 1996, before leaving the station in 2000.
