Stand-Up Comedian Gary Delaney
Delaney has existed in the comedy industry from the early 2000s. Some of his unforgettable times in comedy include his tour to the UK in 2003, to assist Jerry Sadowitz. He had to act in places as Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London and Manchester University. He also had a play titled Purist during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, and attracted very positive reviews. His two gags were part of the top ten of the third yearly Dave Award for the best Joke of the Fringe, it made him very unique! the only comedian to have this happen to him.
He featured on Mock the Week in July 2012. Some of his jokes were not well received, especially one he said that people from Jersey were “trying to shake off their tax avoidance tag and get back to their traditional reputation as Nazi sympathizers.” This never ogared well with the residents of Jersey. In response, the BBC contradicted that Mock the Week contains unreasonable humor and that the comment was “obviously tongue-in-cheek”.
He also had to brush shoulders with copyright issues when his content was alleged to be repeated by a humor website. He raised an alarm and the site dropped the material and started attributing jokes to their original authors.
