Jonathan Swan’s Career in Journalism – AXIOS
Jonathan started his profession in journalism at the age of 25, in his home country of Australia as a national political reporter for Fairfax Media. He was focused in Canberra while also serving for The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper as a political correspondent. Come 2013, he moved to the USA for an academic fellowship that then led to him serving as a Congressional aide.
Come August 2015, Jonathan came to the campaign group for the American news website “The Hill”. In December 2016, he got to the news website, Axios, as a national political reporter in the United States. Mamy times airing the Trump presidency. As such, he has brought up many stories about the Trump administration as he works for AXIOS. For example, he was the first reporter to break the story on the United States withdraw out of the Paris climate deal, Trump’s programme to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, that Steve Bannon’s work was about to come to an end, and that Trump would end the postponed Action for Childhood Arrivals executive action policy. He was in charge of the story that Paul Ryan, the former Speaker of the House was retiring from Congress. This made Jonathan famous as an insider reporting on the White House power struggles, with airing of Oval Office conversations.
