She got to the BBC as a Community Affairs correspondent in the year 1997, airing the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry and at the same time working on Home Affairs. She joined the BBC as a political correspondent in the year 1999, where she served across a variety of TV and radio programs, reporting on politics for BBC One, BBC Two, the BBC News Channel, BBC Radio 4, and BBC Radio 5 Live. She was the BBC News education correspondent in the month of January 2011.

She was employed as a news presenter for BBC One and the BBC News Channel in the month of May 2014. Reeta has led and hosted several corporate happenings, among them the Royal TV Society’s Educational Television Awards Dinners in the year 2003 and 2004. She as well hosted the RTS’s 2018 television Journalism Awards. She aired the opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting at Buckingham Palace in the month of April 2018.
