After serving in TV news, Soren trained art and photography at Stanford University for one year. The exhibit features pictures of 21 baseball players chosen from the Oakland Athletics’ 2002 draft class, that Solon followed for a period of thirteen years until his retirement from baseball. Afterwards that same year, Solon presented Panic Beaches, that featured pictures of rough, powerful waves washing up on beaches across the globe.
Come 2017, the Aperture Foundation unveiled images of Soren’s fantasy life, together with notes by Dave Eggers. The book was launched prior to a major exhibition named “Fantasy Lives” at San Francisco City Hall, featuring over 180 of Soren’s paintings. As well in the summer of 2017, EUQINOM projects in San Francisco displayed works from the Surfaces series, in which all images were shot using 8 x 10 negatives.
