After many years of performing in TV movies, Cast featured as Jason Bateman’s sister on the TV series It’s Your Move, that led to a brief stint on the soap opera Santa Barbara. Come 1986, Cast featured her most intriguing role, Nina Webster on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, where she was joined back to her good friend and Bad News Bears co-star, Kristoff St. John. In 1992, she received a Daytime Emmy Award for her performance. Cast first got fame as Amanda Whirlitzer on the TV series The Bad News Bears in 1979, repeating a role acted by Tatum O’Neal in the 1976 film of the identical name.

When it was announced in September 2000 that Cast needed to be freed from her contract, there were so many conclusions as to why she made the decision to leave. An explanation was later made by Cast’s publicist, stating: “Tricia has made the decision to take an indefinite leave of absence from Hollywood. In Tennessee, she is excited to spend some quality time with her new hubby.” Her final public performance was on January 31st 2001.
