At the time of the one-season run of the TV series Lewis & Clark in 1981–1982, Linker acted Kelly Lewis in her first significant performing role. Shortly after, Linker was appointed to act the lead role of Lauren Hutchinson in the adolescent drama/comedy Square Pegs. The plot of Square Pegs based on the sometimes-desperate efforts of Hutchinson and Patty Greene (played by Sarah Jessica Parker), two freshmen in high school, to mix in and become famous. For the role she acted, Linker had to dress herself with a fat-suit and false braces to appear less attractive than she actually was. Even at receiving positive remarks from reviewers, the show was annulled due to its fist season.She is skilled in teaching second grade and serving in Internet marketing.
Come 1983, Linker voiced “Robin” in the animated Mister T series, following Square Pegs. She gained admission at Wellesley College after the show ended, graduating with a degree in French studies in 1989. Other notable performances by Linker included that of Jenny Pennoyer in the 1984 TV movie When We First Met and Sherie Lee Fox in the 1985 science fiction picture D.A.R.Y.L. In 2009, she featured in the TV series Don’t Make Me Sick as Esmerelda.
