Mead began acting at the age of two, acting small roles. His first notable breakthrough was acting the role of a young Johnny McGowan in the 1994 movie Dragonworld. Afterwards that year, he acted Uh-huh in the 1994 film adaption of The Little Rascals. Come 1997, Mead acted psychic toddler Danny Torrance in Stephen King’s TV adaption of The Shining. In 1997, he featured on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and performed in a Pizza Hut ad.[2] a year later, he featured together with Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Brad Renfro in Disney’s Tom and Huck. He as well acted as Howard in Corrina, Corrina with Whoopi Goldberg, Jack Merchant in Hellraiser IV, and Kirk Cameron’s small brother in the short-lived WB sitcom Kirk.
Mead has roles in The Haunting, focused on Shirley Jackson’s novel The Haunting of Hill House, Disney’s Ariel the Little Mermaid, and Babe (1995). Mead also gave the voices for Gus Griswold in the Disney animated series Recess, Ned Needlemeyer in Nightmare Ned, and the titular character in Disney’s Lloyd in Space. He also acted Nina’s son on The Young and the Restless, starting as Young Phillip and progressing to Phillip Chancellor IV. In 2010, he performed Tommy Farrell in the film Mean Parents Suck.
