George Shelley Biography

George is an English singer, actor, and broadcaster who was a former member of the boy band Union J. In 2015, he featured in the fifteenth series of ITV’s reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, finishing second to Vicky Pattison. He co-hosted The Capital Breakfast Show with Dave Berry and Lilah Parsons.

Shelley is a son to Toni Harris in Clevedon, North Somerset (formerly Avon). He went to the Kings of Wessex Academy in Cheddar before completing from Weston College in 2011. Shelley has two brothers, two stepsisters (Annabelle and Louisa), and four half-brothers. His younger sister, Harriet, passed away in 2017 after being hit by a car. Shelley went to Weston College in Weston-super-Mare from 2010 to 2011, where he graduated with a BTEC Extended Diploma in Graphic Design.

George Shelley The Capital Breakfast Show

In the year 2016, George was a regular host on The Capital Breakfast Show, together with broadcasters Lilah Parsons and Dave Berry. In early 2016, George co-unchoured E!’s Golden Globes coverage with Sarah-Jane Crawford and the Brits Red Carpet live broadcast with Lilah Parsons. Shelley called it quits with The Capital Breakfast Show in April 2017.

Shelley was a member of the British band Only the Young in 2012, but he left the band to compete for The X Factor’s ninth season as a solo artist presenting “Toxic” and was removed during the bootcamp stage, together with boy band Triple J. Nevertheless, because Rough Copy had to leave the contest, an extra seat was available in Louis Walsh’s category for judges’ houses.

The X Factor producers held talks with Triple J’s manager, Blair Dreelan, with an offer for the group to came back, on the condition that Shelley be on the team of the three-piece. All parties agreed the offer, and the band, now four members strong, became Union J and grew to the judges’ houses together with other recalled group Times Red.

Union J grew to the live concerts and finished fourth, trailing Christopher Maloney, Jahméne Douglas, and eventual winner James Arthur. On March 3rd 2016, Shelley quit the band to pursue his acting and broadcasting profession. On January 31st 2022, it was announced that Union J would reform, with Shelley joining the band.

Come July 2016, Shelley did his acting presentation by visitor casting in an episode of the English sitcom series Murder in Successville in series 2, episode 4 as Companion. In the year 2017, Shelley surfaced in Benidorm. He acted Giles in series 9, episode 4.

On 5th November 2022 Shelly surfaced in ‘Sovereigns for the Evening’, a Program brought up by Lorraine Kelly, where famous names changed into cross dressers for an evening and performed before an audience in a live crowd.
