She made a profession out of acting the ITV soap opera Coronation Street with Sally Webster. Come January 1986, she made her first appearance on the series and has remained on the show ever since.

She was nominated for Best On-Screen Relationship at the 2015 British Soap Awards and received the award for Best Comedy Performance. At the British Soap Awards, Dynevor and Joe Duttine received the award for best On-Screen partnering in 2016.
